So often time when I’m talking with new Reps about holding parties (aka as IPA’s:income producing activities, Tupperware get-togethers, Tupperware Socials, Meal Preps, TryMe events, etc) there’s a lot of misconceptions. What I hear is that you, the consultant, don’t have time, don’t have a place to hold a party, live too far out from friends to hold a party, don’t know enough people to hold a party. Here’s a few things that you should consider:
- I don’t have time. Parties (group selling) is the easiest and fastest way to achieve sales goals and make money. WHY? Two reasons. First, you can sell so much more because you have a partner working with you. Your partner (the host), she will be collecting orders and inviting people. If you have two hosts in a week, imagine all the people your could sell to in that week. Each of the hosts should have a sales goal they are working towards, so now you have a MOTIVATED partner. Second…it’s faster. In that short period of time you hold a party, you will get your sales and collect your payments. The guests are literally coming to you, instead of you going to them.
- I don’t have a place. Except for a party that you choose to host yourself, your parties shouldn’t be at your home. Each host has his/her party at her home, her office or her place of choosing. When the weather is nice they can hold a party at a park…just make sure the demo isn’t a microwave demo so you don’t need electricity. The host, not the Tupperware Rep is responsible for supplying the ingredients for a the demo.
- I don’t know enough people. Your success has nothing to do with how many people you know! It’s more about how many people your friends know. I started my business just 6 weeks after moving to Hawaii. Years later, I restarted it again in Florida. I literally had ZERO friends here and a few acquaintances. Two things grew my business…
- My willingness to meet new people by going out and about, and asking total strangers when they last saw a Tupperware demonstration. Are you marketing your business? Are you looking for people that are looking for what you have to offer? When they say YEARS, my response was that ” I would love to get together with you and your friends and show you what’s new”. Now with all of our microwave products I would say ” I’d love to gift you with a free cooking class for you and 8-10 of your friends”.
- The second thing that really grew my business was learning that our business is a VIRAL business. Once you host a party, challenge the host to have 10 people. If your party is with family and friends, ask them to invite people you DON’T know. Why? Because you don’t need your sister to introduce you to your other family members. You need your sister to introduce you to her co-workers and in-laws. If you have 4 sisters and the all host a party and invite each other and some other cousins, you have nothing new. But if you have 4 sisters and they all invite their co-workers…WOW! So-host coach. Tell them who and how to invite and watch your guest lists explode!
- Drive the Exclusive Host Offers. When a host has a party she can use her host credits to redeem for either FREE Tupperware OR one of our EXCLUSIVE Host Offers. These have far more value than the retail Tupperware. BEFORE the party, have your host set a goal for one of the gifts, and help her understand what she needs to do to qualify. Typically if she will collect $200 in pre-orders from those who can not attend (make sure to set up a TupperConnect link) AND she had 8-10 guests in attendance, she will have the sales needed to qualify for a Host Gift Special. This week we have FOUR offers for hosts!
- I have people interested but they don’t have a place/lives too far out/etc . When a host says she lives too far out from most of her friends, suggest another location. Again, maybe after work is a solution. Rather than sitting in traffic, she and her co-workers could stay an hour late for a cooking class. They’d probably still get home about the same time! Another option is that they could hold the party at someone else’s home. This is what we call a DOUBLE HOST PARTY. She would invite friends, the person who’s home it is invites a few friends. They each work on their outside orders and they each earn host gifts based on their respective orders. I usually suggest that the host that is using someone else’s home supplies the ingredients, since the other host had to straighten up the living room and kitchen.
- Lastly, YOU can be a host from time to time. I recommend that you as a consultant personally host at least one party per catalog. Invite friends, relatives, acquaintances, neighbors, co-workers, past hosts and customers that currently do not have a party in your book. When they see what’s new, they will either want to buy or date a party to earn what’s new. That’s a WIN!
So what does PATA mean? Parties Are The Answer! They are the answer to BIGGER sales and profits, MORE future parties, building a customer base and a team, So, check out our current host offers and consider pulling in a party to be held this week….we have FOUR this week, plus free Tupperware!
